EFT reminds us that most of what we feel emotionally is also stored physically in the body. That tight chest when you’re anxious? The heavy feeling after a loss? Those aren’t just emotions, they’re physical imprints.
Our bodies remember what our minds try to forget, and tapping can be a powerful way to release what words alone can’t always reach.
EFT tapping helps release that emotional weight, right where it’s stored in your body. And for many, it’s the missing piece to feeling better.
In this post, we will talk about how emotions affect your physical state, how EFT can help you heal from the inside out, share an amazing scientific experiment, and walk you through how to use EFT at home!
The Mind-Body Connection

Your emotional and physical health are not two separate worlds, even though we often treat them as such. Oftentimes, your body spurs physical symptoms from the emotions you harbour, especially when they go unprocessed.
Some examples of this are;
Stress increases your cortisol and adrenaline levels. Over time, this can lead to body pain, tension headaches, hormonal imbalances, and even Immune suppression.
Anxiety can cause digestive issues like bloating, nausea, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) because the gut and brain are in constant communication via the vagus nerve, often called the “gut-brain axis.”
Grief or Suppressed Anger can manifest as chronic pain, especially in the shoulders, lower back, and jaw.
If you’re thinking,’ There’s no way this is possible,’ thankfully, we have scientific research to back this claim. Studies in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), a field exploring how the mind influences the immune system, have shown that unresolved emotional stress can contribute to inflammation, slower healing, and physical illness.
The American Psychological Association notes that chronic stress is linked to six leading causes of death, including heart disease and autoimmune disorders.
When we ignore our emotions, they don’t disappear, they settle into the body. This is why tools like EFT are so powerful: they help us acknowledge and release those emotional burdens before (or after) they turn into physical ones. The emotions that we experience are vibratory changes in different chemicals in the body.
We literally need “good vibes” to remain in optimal well-being.
These abnormal vibrations create congestion and get stuck, thus creating a permanent change in our bodies…unless released.
What Is EFT and How Does It Work?
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, might sound complicated, but it’s one of the simplest and gentlest ways to balance your mind and body.
It involves lightly tapping on specific spots on your face and upper body while bringing your attention to an emotion you’re feeling.
This tapping sends calming signals to your nervous system, helping you feel safe enough to release what you’ve been holding onto, emotionally and physically. This removes the congestion and abnormal vibration that your body has adopted.
The best part is you don’t need any special tools. Just your fingers, your breath, and a bit of honesty about how you’re feeling.
It’s something you can do in your room, in your car, or whenever your emotions start to feel too heavy to carry.
Real-Life Case of Physical Healing Through EFT

Dr. Rebecca Marina did something most of us wouldn’t think to try: she looked at her blood under a microscope while feeling different emotions. What she discovered was amazing.
When she felt anxious or scared, her blood cells moved quickly and chaotically, clumping together almost like they were unsettled, reflecting how she felt inside. But when she experienced love or calm, her blood changed, moving gently and beautifully, with tiny sparkles appearing in the fluid.
It was like her body was showing exactly how her emotions shifted.
The most beautiful moment came during prayer. Her blood glowed softly and pulsed peacefully, like a quiet heartbeat. Astonishingly, this pulsation followed the pulsation of her heartbeat. The blood cells still have a connection to the body when outside the body. It’s a powerful reminder that our feelings don’t just take place in our minds; they occur in our bodies too.
Simple EFT Tapping Routine You Can Do at Home

Let’s say you’re feeling anxious, you’re not sure why, but your chest feels tight, your mind is racing, and your body just won’t settle.
Start by gently tapping on the side of your hand (the outer edge, below your pinky finger), and say something like:
“Even though I feel anxious right now, I choose to love and accept myself.”
Say it a few times, out loud if you can, or just in your head.
Then, tap through the points:
- Inside the end of the Eyebrow
- Outside of the eye
- Under the eye
- Under the nose, where it meets the upper lip
- Chin
- Below the Collarbone in the divet where it meets the sternum
- Under the arm, roughly one handwidth down from the armpit
At each point, just speak honestly:
“I feel anxious, and I accept that.”
“My chest is heavy, and that is OK.”
“I don’t feel well right now.”
“But I’m letting my body relax, little by little.”
Go back through each point, once again, while tapping and saying:
“Even though I felt anxious, I’ve decided to let go and enjoy peace.”
“My chest and shoulders feel so much lighter and freer now that I have let go.”
“I feel hopeful and at peace. I am grateful to be so blessed.
“I am unburdened and relaxed, I feel amazing and balanced.”
You should repeat this second set two more times or elaborate on what is written here to your liking. Take a deep breath between each set and enjoy your new normal!
EFT isn’t about fixing everything instantly, it’s about giving your emotions space, without judgment, and letting your body know it’s now safe to let go.
Conclusion
It’s easy to brush off the way we feel, especially when life keeps moving and our bodies keep up, until they don’t.
But the truth is, our emotions are always finding a way to speak, whether through stress, tension, or that constant tired feeling we can’t explain.
EFT is just one way to start listening. It’s simple, calming, and it gives you space to feel what you need to feel without judgment.
